Poll: Did you say you had a religion in last night's census?

It was one of the most debated questions on the form – but how did you answer?

LAST NIGHT WAS census night: in households all over the country, people were settling down to tackle the form.

But how did you tackle the religion section? Like in 2011, there were several options given in this year’s form – including a list of five faiths, as well as an option to write in a creed not listed and a box for ‘no religion’.

This census question has provoked more discussion than any other asked – with some campaigners arguing in recent weeks that it’s essentially a leading question as it assumes the person answering has a religion.

This evening we want to know: Did you answer that you had a religion?
