50,000 cigarettes seized in sting operation in Co Tipperary

The cigarettes were found in two houses in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary and a number of people were questioned.

REVENUE SEIZED 50,000 cigarettes in an intelligence-led operation by officers from Revenue’s Customs Service last night.

The cigarettes had a retail value of €21,000 and a potential loss to the exchequer of €18,000.

The cigarettes were seized from two houses in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary and a number of people were questioned.

A file is currently being prepared for the DPP.
