Two men killed in separate car crashes this morning

Both crashes took place in separate locations within half an hour of each other.

TWO MEN HAVE died in separate road crashes today.

A man died after being involved in a three-car collision in Co Kilkenny this morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 11am this morning in Dangan, Thomastown in Kilkenny.

The man was treated at the scene by emergency services but died soon after. His body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.

Two other men were taken to St Luke’s Hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Thurles

Seperately, gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash which left a man in his late 70s dead.

The 78-year-old’s car left the road and struck a concrete column at Gortnahoe near Thurles in Tipperary.

The man was treated at the scene shortly after 11.30am this morning by emergency services but died a short time later.

His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination. He was the sole occupant of the car.

Both roads where the collisions took place have been closed and local diversions are in place. Garda forensic collision investigators are at both scenes and the coroner has been notified.
