34-year-old man dies following collision between car and truck in Donegal

A 34-YEAR-OLD MAN has died following a collision between a car and a truck in Co Donegal.

The accident happened just before 1pm on the main Letterkenny to Lifford yesterday afternoon.

The man, who was driving the car, was taken along with his passenger, a teenage girl, to Letterkenny General Hospital.

He is the sixth person to die on the county’s roads this week.

He was pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning.

The girl, who is aged in her late teens, remains in hospital. The driver of the truck was unhurt.

The road has since reopened. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact them on 074 9167100, on the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666111, or at any Garda Station.
