Man dies in single vehicle crash on Laois motorway

The 47-year-old died in the crash on the M7 outside Portlaoise.

A 47-YEAR-OLD man has died when the car he was driving crashed on the motorway just outside Portloaise.

The crash happened at about 10pm yesterday evening when the driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, crashed on the M7 at Ballymacken.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise where a post mortem examination will take place later today.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and there were no other injuries.
