Coast guard recover body from Roaringwater Bay in Cork

Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.

THE BODY OF a man has been recovered from a bay in Cork.

Schull Coast Guard despatched to investigate the sighting of a body in Roaringwater Bay earlier this afternoon.

The body of a man was taken from the water, and gardaí at Clonakilty notified.

Gardaí say the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious. It is believed he had been swimming in the bay.

The body remains at the scene and is due to be brought to Cork University Hospital later today.
