Man armed with hammer arrested following off-licence robbery

The man was detained during a follow-up search in the Greenhills area.

A MAN IN his 20s was arrested last night following a robbery at an off-licence at Greenhills in south Dublin.

Gardaí attended the scene on St James Road but detained the suspect in a follow-up search.

At about 9.30pm, a lone male entered the store and demanded cash. He was armed with what was described as a hammer. He fled the scene with a sum of money. Nobody was injured during the incident.

He is currently being questioned at Sundrive Road garda station.
