Four arrested after armed robbery at Dublin shopping centre

Gardaí stopped a car in Finglas last night and arrested two men and two women in connection with the robbery.

FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van at a Dublin shopping centre.

Two men, one of whom had a gun, confronted a security employee as he was making a cash collection at the Orwell Shopping Centre in Templeogue at approximately 4.15pm on Saturday afternoon.

The two men escaped in a nearby jeep with an undisclosed sum of money. The jeep was found abandoned at a car park shortly afterwards.

As part of the investigation, Gardaí stopped a car in Finglas last night and arrested two men and two women, who are currently being questioned at Garda stations on the south side of the city.

No-one was injured in the robbery.
