RTÉ warns public over fake Toy Show texts

The broadcaster has urged members of the public not to respond to any text messages claiming to be from RTÉ.

RTÉ HAS ISSUED a statement urging members of the public not to respond to text messages claiming that the recipient has won tickets to the Late Late Toy Show.

Consumers have been receiving texts informing them that they have won tickets to the popular show, and asking them to call a premium rate number to collect them.

RTÉ’ Late Late Show has responded to the reports by tweeting:

RTÉ wishes to make it clear that there are no tickets for The Late Late Toy Show available by this method and these text messages are not from RTÉ and we would urge the public not to respond to these text messages.
