RUSSEL BRAND HAS backed the Labour Party in the upcoming UK election.

Brand, who has been very vocal in the past about a need to shake-up the political system, interviewed the leader of the Labour Party Ed Miliband and said: “I think it’s cool what you say.”

Brand uploaded a new video to his YouTube channel, The Trews, stating there is a need for politics to be involved and engaged with communities.

He said he believed Miliband is going to welcome “pressure from below” and “understands that people are pissed off” and that their needs have been neglected.

“If we speak he will listen.”

He also said he believed the UK was in a “dangerous position”.

While he admitted that he had become known as “Mr Don’t Vote” he urged people to get out and vote in the UK election.

“You’ve gotta vote Labour. You’ve got to get the Conservative Party out of government in this country.”

He added that politics isn’t something people should get involved in every five years, stating:

“Democracy is for every day.”
