Pictures: Sand sculpting trio's giant monuments in Dublin Castle

A trio of artists constructed a series of complex sculptures today in Dublin Castle — see them here.

SAND SCULPTURE ARTISTS took to the courtyard of Dublin Castle today to construct a collection of monuments which were a little bit more complex than your common-or-garden sand castle.

The exhibition features the work of Duthain Dealbh, a trio of DIT graduate artists, under the theme of The Bright Side.

Daniel Doyle, Niall Magee, and Alan Magee have been sculpting together for over a decade, and not just using sand; they have used snow, fire, and ice to make works of art.

Their work today features monuments inspired by the Claddagh Ring and the phenomenon that is the Irish mammy. Check them out below.
