Star of Everybody Loves Raymond takes his own life

Sawyer Sweeten was 19.

A CHILD STAR of Everybody Loves Raymond has taken his own life, his family said.

Sawyer Sweeten (19) first appeared in the US television programme along side his twin brother Sullivan when they were 16 months old.

Their older sister, Madylin, also starred in the programme, which ran from 1995 to 2006.

She took to Facebook earlier this morning to encourage people to “reach out to the ones you love”.

Let them have no doubt of what they mean to you.

In a statement released to US media, the family said a ‘terrible tragedy’ had taken place.

“Our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday,” it read.

RadarOnline reports that he was visiting family in Texas at the time, and was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

Sweeten did not appear in any other productions after Everybody Loves Raymond, according to his IMDb page.
