On this night in 1993 you were listening to… Shaggy

A Friday Flashback to get your weekend started…

OH CAROLINA! What a tune.

We don’t have a clue what Shaggy was singing about here (and we’re not sure we want to know), but we all valiantly tried to sing along when this song was released.

Entering the charts on 11 March 1993, it stayed there for 12 weeks after hitting the top spot almost instantly.

A former member of the United States Marine Corps, Shaggy was responsible for quite a few hits, including Boombastic, It Wasn’t Me and In The Summertime.

He’s still performing, and released his most recent album in 2011.
