Man shot in the face after dropping child off at Dublin creche

The victim sustained serious injuries in the shooting which happened in Donaghmede at around 9am.

A MAN IN his 30s is seriously injured after being shot in the face outside a creche in Dublin this morning.

The victim was approached by a lone gunman on Holywell Avenue in Donaghmede at approximately 9am as he was dropping his child off at the Little Rainbows creche, and was shot once.  The gunman fled the scene on foot.

The man is being treated in Beaumont Hospital where his condition is serious.

Gardaí are currently at the scene which has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

Investigators have called on anyone with information about the shooting to contact Coolock Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line.
