Man arrested as loaded shotgun and knife seized in Tipperary

The seizure was made when gardaí stopped a van in Fethard following reports of suspicious activity.

A SHOTGUN AND a knife were seized by gardaí last night as after a search operation in Co. Tipperary.

A man in his 30s was arrested as local gardaí supported by regional units searched as van in Fethard following reports of suspicious activity.

During the course of the search gardaí recovered a loaded shotgun and a knife with the man then arrested at the scene.

The man is being held at Clonmel Garda Station under laws relating to subversive activity for which he can be held for a maximum of 72 hours.
