Man who didn't know how long his puppy had to live filmed her every day

The film is beautiful and oddly moving.

HAVING A SICKLY pet can be difficult.

When filmmaker Dave Meinert rescued a puppy from some breeders, he didn’t know if she was going to make it.

The Great Dane, which he named Pegasus, was sickly from the beginning of her life, and most of her siblings had either died or had deformities.

Meinert didn’t know how long she was going to live – so he began to film her every day on a treadmill to keep track of her life. Over the course of the video, and against all the odds, the frail puppy gradually grows into a strapping Great Dane.

After Pegasus’ story went viral, Meinert explained that he had had to give her away to another family due to his travel commitments – but that she’s a very happy dog.

I am lucky that I get to visit and take her for short periods, and maybe that’s why in my heart she’s still with me. It’s always difficult. If the dog is happier, do you forsake your happiness? I think yes… In the end, we try our best and our pets teach us lessons about love, humility and non-judgement.
