Six arrested as cannabis plants seized in Galway

The plants have an estimated street value of €750,000, say Gardaí.

SIX PEOPLE REMAIN in custody in Galway after a planned Garda operation in the Tuam and Oughterard areas of the county yesterday.

Searches were carried out by the Divisional Drug Unit in three houses, where cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €750,000 were discovered.

Five men and one woman – ranging in ages from their 20s to their 50s – were arrested following the planned operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the western region. Four of the men are currently being detained at Galway, while one man and one woman are being questioned at Loughrea garda station.
