Skoda Ireland releases prices for its all-new compact SUV

Karoq models will arrive in Irish Skoda dealerships early next month.

SKODA IRELAND HAS released the spec and pricing details for its new compact SUV, the Karoq. This is the second model in the brand’s SUV offensive.

Skoda’s new offering is set to rival the Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. It makes its debut on Irish soil next month, starting at €27,715 for the Ambition model.

The Karoq includes the familiar broad grille and split headlights of the larger Kodiac. Indeed, these design quirks are now becoming a signature feature of Skoda’s cars.

The Ambition trim comes as standard with 17-inch alloys, chrome roof rails and window surrounds. Inside gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Climatronic aircon and rear parking sensors.

For a design upgrade, opt for the Style trim and add 18-inch alloys, Keyless Entry with Start/Stop button, a 9.2-inch Columbus touchscreen with sat nav, DAB radio, SIM card slot for Skoda Connect service and a rear-view camera.

New technologies include driver-assistance systems and full LED headlights and – for the first time in a Skoda – a digital instrument panel. The top navigation systems, Columbus and Amundsen, also have a Wi-Fi hotspot, and buyers can opt for wireless phone charging.

There will be a range of four engines to choose from: a 1.0 and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, plus a 1.6 and 2.0-litre diesel. Buyers will have a choice of automatic and manual gearboxes as well as front or all-wheel drive transmissions.

Prices range from €27,715 for the entry-level standard, right up to €37,765 for the Karoq Style 150hp 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 4X4 and DSG.
