WATCH: A skydiver survived this terrifying landing

Ouch.

LiveLeak Official / YouTube

IT’S A TERRIFYING thought – a skydive going wrong.

Thankfully, this skydiver had a very lucky escape when he landed in a lake in Sacramento.

Everything seemed to be going fine as he approached the ground, until suddenly he began to start spinning and travelling at a very high speed.

In the video, he can be heard shouting as he plummets towards a lake.

Luckily, he escaped with treatable injuries and there were people on hand to help him out of the lake.

Afterwards, he said:

Unfortunately this happened today:( fortunately I am alive and in
pretty good shape. Clean break on my femur, surgery in the am. Doc says should be good in 6-8 weeks:)

A skydiving expert told TheJournal.ie that parachutes “don’t just spin out of control”, and that the man may have “misjudged a high performance manoeuvre, came out of the turn too late and impacted the ground”.
