Man shot several times as he answers his front door in Dowth, Co Meath

The 39-year-old man is being treated in hospital in Drogheda.

GARDAÍ IN SLANE are investigating after a man was shot several times in the upper body and leg as he answered his front door in Dowth, Co Meath.

The attack happened at around 9.45pm last night.

The 39-year-old man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he’s still receiving treatment this morning. 

His injuries which are not thought to be life threatening, gardaí say.

The scene of the shooting has been sealed off as forensic investigations get under way.
