Slideshow: Thousands walk for peace in Omagh

The walk was to commemorate the police constable who was murdered earlier this month.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE gathered in Omagh yesterday to walk for peace following the murder of police constable Ronan Kerr in the Co Tyrone earlier this month.

The 25-year-old Catholic PSNI officer died when a booby-trap bomb exploded under his car outside his home in the town in Saturday, 2 April.

The attack has been widely condemned and yesterday the people of the town marched in memory of Kerr and to demonstrate their opposition to a return to violence in Northern Ireland.
