Gaiety Theatre to open as normal after fire brought under control

The theatre said there was no damage caused to the auditorium and the theatre will open as normal today.

Updated 07.53am

THE GAIETY THEATRE and box office will operate as normal today after it was forced to close last night after a fire broke out.

Dublin Fire Brigade sent three engines to the scene. The theatre confirmed on its Facebook page that the fire broke out in an isolated part of a room inside the theatre.

The situation was soon brought under control.

No damage was caused to the auditorium or any public area of the theatre.

There was no performance scheduled to take place last night, so no customers were impacted.

The theatre said Wednesday night’s opening of ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ will go ahead as planned.
