Gardaí investigating after concert-goer is bottled at Luas stop

The man was taken to the Mater Hospital.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an attack that left a man in his 30s needing staples in his head.

The unprovoked attacked occurred at 12.30am on Thursday morning at the Luas stop in Dublin’s Smithfield.

The man, in his late 30s, is believed to have been returning from the Peter Gabriel gig earlier in the night at the 3 Arena.

He was attacked by a group of men at the stop and hit with a bottle.

He was taken to the Mater Hospital, where he had staples put into a wound in his head. He was released yesterday.

Gardaí at the Bridewell are investigating and anyone with any information can contact  (01) 666 8200.
