Some of you got very creative with the snow today...

We asked you to send us your snow pictures and you did not disappoint.

Updated 5.45pm

AS YOU MAY have noticed, it’s still a bit snowy out there.

Delicate little flakes have been falling from the sky since early this morning in many places, leaving thick blankets of the white stuff in places like Monaghan, Cavan and Donegal.

You lot have been sending us a great selection of snow pictures from around the country since sunrise. The star performer this morning was reader Liam Kenny from Ballyjamesduff in Cavan, who captured the picture below with his Phantom Quadcopter, mounted with a GoPro camera.

Just to give an idea how much snow is falling in the Breffni County, Liam also sent these in, first thing…

In the running for best snow snap, we have a late contender in reader Kevin Crosby, who sent us this adorable picture of his little ones sitting on an impressive snow bear in Cavan:

Also in Cavan, 1-year-old Hannah was content to just sit in the snow and take it all in.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a snow day without some impressive snowmen. We like this guy, who’s so cool that he has to wear shades:

And these snow snaps were almost too cute for us to handle. Look at their little faces and their cute little dog:

Monaghan

This might be the best snowman we’ve ever seen and he was made by Milly and Maddie Smith with their mammy Sarah Norton in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan:

It makes us want to build a snowman…

Donal McAdam sent in these from Carrickatee in Co Monaghan, where there were drifts of up to 9 inches in some areas, he said.

By the looks of these goalposts, he may not be too far off.

And this little mite was nearly swallowed up by it:

Meanwhile, slightly further north…

And those sheltered southerners…

Elsewhere, as you might expect, the snow seemed to be sticking on higher ground, but those of us down the valleys are getting only a light dusting.

In the Kingdom, finally, they were feeling a bit left out today…

Have you got any good snaps of the snow? Send them to tips@thejournal.ie and they might make it in here…
