Young man dies after his car crashes into a wall in Galway

The crash happened just before midnight in the town of An Spidéal.

A MAN IN his 20s has died after the car he was driving crashed into a wall in An Spidéal, Co Galway last night.

The crash happened just before midnight on the R336 at Baile Liam, just before the village on the Galway City side.

Gardaí as well as emergency services were dispatched to the scene of the crash last night and the man was removed from his vehicle and rushed to University Hospital Galway.

The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital and the coroner was notified.

Gardaí remain at the scene of the crash this morning and diversions are in place.

Any witnesses to the crash are being asked to contact gardaí.
