Man arrested after woman and teenage girl stabbed in Cork attack

A woman in her 40s and a girl in her mid teens were hospitalised after the attack.

A MAN IN his 50s is being held for questioning by gardaí after a woman and a teenage girl were stabbed in an attack this morning.

It happened in the town of Cobh, in Co Cork, between 10am and 11am.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken for treatment to Cork University Hospital. Her injuries are described as serious but not life threatening.

The girl, in her mid-teens, was also treated at CUH. Her injuries are not serious.

Gardaí confirmed the man was being held for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
