Man hospitalised after stabbing in Tipperary

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A 22-YEAR-OLD is in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in the early hours of this morning in Tipperary.

The incident occurred at the entrance road to Móin Na Cíbe (Monakeeba), Thurles. The 22-year-old sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken by ambulance to Clonmel Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A knife was recovered near to the scene by gardaí in follow-up searches and a man in his 30 has been arrested. He is currently detained at Thurles Garda Station.

The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination.
