Man charged with voyeurism after hiding a camera in a Starbucks toilet

Anthony Dines (31), of Shortlands Road, Kingston Upon Thames, was arrested in New Malden on Wednesday, 22 November.

LONDON POLICE HAVE arrested and charged a man with voyeurism in relation to installing a camera in a coffee-shop toilet.

Anthony Dines (31), of Shortlands Road, Kingston Upon Thames, was arrested in New Malden on Wednesday, 22 November.

He was charged on Saturday with four counts of voyeurism contrary to Section 67 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Police had early issued a public appeal to help find a man who had been believed to have installed the camera in a grate in the ceiling in the only customer toilet in the Starbucks outlet in Vauxhall in south west London.

A member of the public spotted the device last week and alerted the police.

It’s understood that the camera had been in place for between three and four weeks, and was installed ‘for the purpose of voyeurism’, according to detectives with the Metropolitan Police.

Police said that upon examination the device was found to contain video files of members of the public using the toilet.

However, the same examination has revealed footage of an unknown man who detectives believed may have been responsible for installing the camera.

An image of the man was released to the public in an attempt to identify him.

Police say there is no reason to believe anyone other than their own officers has viewed footage from the camera, as the device was seized at the location.
