Poll: Do you think Eircode postcodes are a good idea?

Each code will consist of seven digits – a three-digit ‘routing key’, and 4-digit ‘unique identifier’.

POSTCODES WILL BE sent out to 2.2 million households in the last two weeks of June.

Each address in the state, including each flat in a block and each house in a townland, will have its own Eircode.

The final four digits in the seven number code will be completely random. It has led to criticisms that one incorrect digit could lead to emergency services being sent in the complete wrong direction.

So today we’re asking, Do you think Eircode postcodes are a good idea?

Poll Results:

No (6278)
Yes (5911)
I don't know (827)
