ESB NETWORKS CREWS are out working to reconnect households left without power this evening, as Storm Eva sweeps across the country from the west.

Around 2,000 homes and businesses were without electricity as of 10.30pm tonight.

One of the worst hit areas was around Naas in Co Kildare where around 1,460 households were without power.

There have also been outages in Achill, Dungloe in Donegal – and in Artane and around Leeson Street in Dublin this evening.

Faults are also being reported around the west and southwest – with customers off-line in Limerick, Mallow, Fermoy, Cork City and Cobh and near Waterville in Kerry.

You can keep an eye on the situation via the ESB Powercheck site.
