Houses evacuated after suspicious device is found in Ballymun

Gardaí and army members are at the scene.

GARDAÍ ARE DEALING with a suspicious object believed to be a pipe bomb in Ballymun, Dublin.

The device was found at Shangan Green housing estate at around 6.30am.

An Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team is at the scene and the area has been sealed off.

A number of nearby houses have been evacuated and there are some diversions in place.
