Two swans delayed trains by 30 minutes during Dublin rush hour

Staff managed to clear the swans quickly but there were knock-on delays.

TWO SWANS DELAYED rail traffic by a half an hour during rush hour in Dublin yesterday evening.

Just before 5pm Irish Rail said there was a delay through Lansdowne Road due to a “cygnet fault”.

Staff did manage to clear the trespassing swans from the tracks but commuters then faced knock-on delays of up to 30 minutes.

Some customers expressed frustration at the delays and complained of a lack of communication from the drivers on their trains about what was happening.

Others, however, enjoyed Irish Rail’s swan-related wit:

Let’s hope the swans take the morning off from inconveniencing commuters.
