11 people rescued from Tallaght apartment fire

Six have been taken to hospital.

SIX PEOPLE HAVE been taken to hospital after an apartment fire in Tallaght, Dublin.

The fire broke out at the building on Cookstown Way at around 3am this morning. Members of C Watch from Tallaght, Dolphin’s Barn and Rathfarnham attended the scene, along with the Tara Street turntable ladder.

In total, 11 people were rescued, with some being taken from a balcony by firefighters.

In total, six people have been taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation – six adults and three children – but none are believed to be seriously injured.

An investigation into the fire is underway.
