Murder investigation launched following death of man (20) in Tallaght

A 20-year-old man has been arrested.

GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED a murder investigation following the death of a 20-year-old man.

The man was discovered on the Old Blessington Road in Tallaght at around 3am on Wednesday morning. He had suffered serious head injuries, gardaí said.

He was removed to Tallaght Hospital and then moved to Beaumont Hospital. He died from his injuries today.

A garda spokesman said: “The man died as a result of injuries sustained today. A post-mortem examination was carried out and this investigation has now been upgraded to murder.

“A 20-year-old man was arrested in the Tallaght area this afternoon in relation to this investigation and is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.”
