Man arrested after taxi hijacked in Dublin

The man told the driver he had a gun.

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a taxi was hijacked in Dublin.

The 43-year-old driver of the cab had taken a fare on the Crumlin Road in Dublin and told to drive to Dolphin’s Barn. While on the way, the passenger told the driver he had a gun and placed an object to his head.

He told the driver to pull over, took his keys and drove off.

The car was later found abandoned on the Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken to Sundrive Road Garda Station, where he can be held for 72 hours.

No weapon has been recovered.
