Teenage girl assaulted by man with one tooth

The assault occurred in the early hours of this morning.

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl was assaulted by a man in Derry in the early hours of this morning and police are appealing for any information people may have about him.

The assault occurred in the Racecourse Road area sometime between 1.30am and 3am. The man is described as being 20 or 21-years-old with a single upper tooth.

He spoke with a local Derry accent and was wearing a red coloured hooded top with white stripes.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information about the incident to contact them at PSNI Serious Crime Branch, Mahon Road Police Station. They are particularly keen to speak with any young persons who were in the area of the tunnel, off the Racecourse Road, either late last night or early this morning.

Detectives can be contacted on 028 3836 6274 or by calling the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
