Investigation launched after woman assaulted in Temple Bar

Gardai in Pearse Street are investigating.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING claims that a woman was assaulted in Temple Bar early on Tuesday morning.

The woman, who is understood to be in her 20s, was allegedly attacked as she walked down Bedford Lane in the busy tourist area of the city.

There have been no arrests to date but gardaí are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí in Pearse Street received a report that a female had been assaulted at Bedford Lane, Dublin 2. No further information is available at this stage. Gardaí in Pearse Street are investigating.”

Back in 2015, a young woman was attacked on the same lane.

Gardaí received reports that a woman was assaulted by a man – but it’s believed she left the area before officers arrived.
