The Dundalk family band had been on a break since 2006.
Speaking to The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, Andrea Corr announced the group will take to the stage again at Live in Hyde Park.
The group recently played together at their father’s funeral in April.
“We’ve emerged after our lives going in different ways, babies and all that,” Andrea said (counting up a total of eight children).
We’re in the process of making a new record so it just feels right to do this.
She said the performance in September will be their first in ten years, hinting that an Irish gig beforehand isn’t on the cards.

I often wondered if we would see them get back together. Their music was good when they first hit the scene. It will be interesting to see if the break has done them good.

I dont think the locals would tolerate their kind of music, they’re more 1D and Ed fans. I suppose they can sell more of that type of merchandise ..I mean, have you ever seen a Corrs pink t shirt emblazoned with 3 of the Corrs ladies? Bet you’ve seen a 1D one with 5 boys though, and wait for Ed Sheeran…

The Corrs=Gobsheens. They broke up for good reason so why now try to undo history. The family must be short of a few quid. Yes okay they had a handful of successful tracks, not my cup of tea mind you, but its like spending hours sellotaping back together a torn up shopping list. Its like the Take That / Westlife / Boyzone /Spice Girls reunion crap. Lets rip off our “fans” a second time, lift them up by their ankles and see what change falls out. Nothing whatsoever to with music. Corrs v2 will fall flat on its arse, just watch.
