The database, which is available on all platforms, is a comprehensive, detailed and informative guide to the who, what and why of what’s likely to be one of the most fascinating general elections in recent times.

It contains pictures, biographies, contact details and the social media profiles of over 450 candidates who are so far confirmed as running in the 40 Dáil constituencies.

The majority of candidates have also answered three key questions put to them by TheJournal.ie in order to give voters an idea of their intentions should they be one of the 158 TDs elected to the 32nd Dáil.

In 140 characters or fewer, candidates have been asked:

  1. Why should someone vote for you?
  2. What is your number one priority for your constituency?
  3. What one thing would you like to do in your first 100 days of the new Dáil if elected?

You can read their answers and decide for yourself if they’re the candidate for you.
