Three youths arrested over attacks on garda vans

Van was seriously damaged in a fire gardaí believe was started intentionally, but no one was injured.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING an arson attack on a garda camera van near Arklow in March have arrested three young men.

The ‘GoSafe’ van, which was marked as a garda camera van, was extensively damaged by fire on the evening of 13 March as it sat about 1km south of Arklow on the Gorey Road.

No one was injured in the incident.

Gardaí in Gorey, Co Wexford, today arreted three men after carrying out a number of searches in the area. Two of the men are in their late teens and the third is a juvenile.

All three are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
