Elderly woman killed in Tipperary car crash

A second woman, who was a passenger in the car, was also injured in the collision.

AN ELDERLY WOMAN has been killed in a single vehicle crash at Two-Mile-Borris in Tipperary this afternoon.

At 2pm today, the car the woman was driving hit a fence and she was fatally injured. A second woman in the car also sustained non life-threatening injuries.

The body of the deceased woman has been removed to University Hospital Limerick. The section of road on which the crash occurred is currently closed to facilitate an an examination by garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact Thurles garda station on 050425100, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
