The rainfall radar at 7.45 this morning Met Éireann

Today's weather: Rain, followed by showers

The wet spell is set to continue into next week.

THE LATEST OUTLOOK from Met Éireann shows no sign of any return to the Mediterranean conditions we enjoyed at the start of the month.

It’s set to stay unsettled over the weekend and into the first few days of next week at least, with temperatures below normal for the time of year.

Today will be overcast and wet with spells of rain and spot flooding in some areas, with the heaviest rain clearing to the east through the morning.

There’ll be some sunny spells this afternoon interspersed with passing showers. Highest temperatures today will be between 14 and 17 degrees – with Leinster seeing the warmest weather.

There’ll be scattered outbreaks of rain tonight, and Met Éireann’s forecast for tomorrow is for ‘wet and rather windy’ weather.
