THE DEATH OF James Gandolfini has come as a major shock to fans of The Sopranos and those who admired the actor.

The 51-year-old is thought to have died from a heart attack while on holiday in Rome, Italy.

He won multiple awards for his portrayal of the troubled but tough mob boss, Tony Soprano, in the hit TV show which ran for eight glorious years between 1999 and 2007.
