The Tories tried to use Sinn Féin to have a go at Ed Miliband

Sinn Féin said it was silly behaviour from the Conservatives

THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY had a bit of fun on Twitter today, telling followers a suggestion that Labour are wooing Sinn Féin in the UK could mean “chaos” for Britain if true.

A mock-up of Labour leader Ed Miliband with former Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) leader Alex Salmond and Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams reads:

Your worst nightmare…just got even worse.
The SNP and Sinn Féin propping up Ed Miliband? Chaos for Britain.

It also included a clipping from The Sun’s story today about Labour trying to cosy up to Sinn Féin.

Sinn Féin later hit back, accusing the Conservatives of using “lazy, fantasy journalism” to score points.

A spokesperson for the party told TheJournal.ie this evening that they are “not taking it very seriously”.

“It’s silly stuff from the Tories – they know we’re abstentionists and we’ll stay that way.”
