64-year-old man killed crossing Dublin road

The female occupant of the car involved was uninjured.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in which a 64-year-old pedestrian was killed earlier today.

The incident occurred on the N7 southbound at Junction 3, Citywest, at approximately 4.45pm.

The male pedestrianwas fatally injured when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross the road. The female driver of the vehicle, who was the sole occupant, was uninjured.

The man’s body was removed to the mortuary at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Tallaght, where a full post mortem is to be arranged.

The N7 Southbound carriageway was closed at junction 2, Kingswood, for a period of time, to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Rathcoole Garda Station on 01 6667900, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
