The man’s body has now been recovered.

Updated at 12.35pm

RAIL SERVICES between Cork and Cobh are expected to resume shortly, after a man’s body was discovered on the shoreline at Glounthaune this morning.

Irish Rail shut down its Cobh and Midleton services to and from the city after a request from Gardaí, at around 10am.

A Coast Guard unit then recovered the body, which could only be accessed by crossing the line.
