23-year-old woman killed after tree falls on car in Mullingar

The incident occurred on the road to Ballymahon.

A WOMAN HAS died after a tree fell on her car in Mullingar, County Westmeath.

The 23-year-old was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The incident occurred on the road to Ballymahon from Mullingar shortly after 4pm this evening.

She was rushed to Mullingar General Hospital, but died a short time later.

Diversions are currently in place.
