Donald Trump says Hillary Clinton was "schlonged" by Barack Obama in their 2008 race

Yes, it means the same thing over there as it does here.

DONALD TRUMP has said that Hillary Clinton got “schlonged” by Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary.

Trump used the vulgar term as part of a series of attacks on the former Secretary of State in which he also criticised a bathroom break she took during a debate.

He described her absence from the stage as “disgusting”.

During the weekend’s Democratic debate, Clinton was missing from the podium at one point when cameras returned from an ad break

“I know where she went, it’s disgusting, I don’t want to talk about it,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Michigan.

No, it’s too disgusting. Don’t say it, it’s disgusting, let’s not talk, we want to be very, very straight up.

The Republican frontrunner also said of Clinton that “everything that she has been involved with has been losses”.

“Even a race to Obama, she was gonna beat Obama,” he said, referring to the 2008 presidential race.

I don’t know who would be worse, I don’t know, how does it get worse? But she was going to beat — she was favoured to win — and she got schlonged, she lost, I mean she lost.

The term is used in Yiddish slang in the same way as it is in Ireland and is believed to come from the German word ’schlange’ meaning ‘snake’.

Trump also accused Clinton of lying during the debate over a claim she made that jihadists were using videos of him to recruit fighters.

Trump, 69, also once again took aim at the press, describing them as “lying, disgusting people.”

“I hate some of these people, but I’d never kill them,” he added, before appearing to reconsider: “Umm, no, I would never do that.”
