Two men arrested after €400,000 of cannabis seized

A house was searched in the Tuam area today, leading to the find and arrests.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after €400,000 of cannabis was seized in Co Galway.

Gardaí seized the herbal cannabis, which has an estimated street value of €400,000 (pending analysis), and arrested the two males during an operation earlier today.

The seizure was made as part of an investigation involving members of the Garda National Drugs Unit, Revenue Customs Service, Galway and Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit during a search at a house in the Tuam area.

The two men who were arrested are aged in their 40s. They are currently detained at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. They can be held for up to seven days.

The investigation is ongoing.
