Gardaí appeal for help identifying young man killed in Carlow collision

The incident occurred at 5am this morning.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for help identifying a young man who was killed in an early morning road collision today.

The incident occurred on the Tullow to Ballon Road in the townland of Ardristan in Carlow at 5am. A male pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a van. The van driver was uninjured.

The deceased man is described as being in his mid 20s, over 6 foot in height, well built with short red hair. His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.

The road is closed for a forensic collision investigation with diversions in place.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses or anyone who may be able to assist them in identifying the deceased man to contact them at Tullow garda station on 059 918 1160, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1 800 666 111 or any garda station.
